Ranch At The Canyons

There may be no working ranch in the West as unique as Ranch at the Canyons. Within its 1,700 acres a limited number of landholdings of approximately 5 to 10 acres each provide the setting for owner-built homes designed in a style reminiscent of Tuscan hills or Napa wine country.

Each land holding offers privacy and breathtaking views of imposing red rock formations and canyons along the Crooked River, or the 10,000-foot Oregon Cascades peaks. It’s a place were scenery and serenity mesh in an active conservation-minded environment.

The Cascades shield the site from the rains from the Pacific Ocean, resulting in 300 days of sunshine a year while creating a uniquely temperate climate that nourishes flowers, orchards and vineyards on 600 acres of irrigated farmland – all attended to by a dedicated staff. From the perspective of a homeowner, it’s a working country estate without the work.

The adventurous will find the Ranch to be a recreational property like no other. For most people, Smith Rock is a destination; some travel from around the world to scale its heights. For residents of the Ranch, it’s simply the backyard.

Anglers may test their casting skills on more than two miles of private access along the Crooked River.  Including a scenic and secluded spot at the foot of Paiute Falls. The Ranch also has 17 lakes, more than a dozen providing opportunities to fly fish for bass or trout, or canoeing or kayaking with friends and family.

Despite its exclusive and rural location, the Ranch is nearby the best of what Oregon has to offer. The city of Bend is only 25 minutes away, and offers an abundance of art and culturally related activities, as well as shopping and fine dining. And only 20 minutes from Bend is Mt. Bachelor, one of the Northwest’s finest ski resorts. Similarly, the slopes of Mt. Hood are just over an hour away from the Ranch. At 11,239 feet, Mt. Hood is the highest mountain in Oregon, with five different ski areas totaling over 4,600 acres of skiable terrain.

Accessing the world outside of Central Oregon is easily done as well. The regional airport in Redmond is only 15 minutes away, providing a gateway to Central Oregon with direct flights to Denver, Portland, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, Seattle and San Francisco.

Celebration, Food, Family & Friendship

Social activities at the Ranch revolve around the 7,000 square foot Old Winery Clubhouse with its private dining room available to residents for catered dinners, weddings and other special events. Guest of land holders may also stay overnight in the clubhouse. Just across Teal Lake the Tuscan Stables is also a unique venue for more informal activities, as well as the facility for Ranch residents to bottle their own private-label wine.

Walk, Bike & Hike
Ranch at the Canyons provides countless areas to walk, bike or hike in settings of breathtaking natural beauty.

Canoe, Boat, Swim & Tennis

Canoe or kayak with family and friends on the Crooked River or on one of the many Ranch lakes.  On Teal Lake, you can row from dockside to the Tuscan Stables, The Clubhouse and the lakeside waterfall.

Nestled next to The Old Winery Clubhouse, private outdoor tennis facilities provide land holders the pleasure of playing under Central Oregon’s clear blue sky.
