Dear friends,

It’s a hot summer here at Ranch at the Canyons. We have many guests and friends coming out to attend our special events, see the progress on The Old Winery Clubhouse, admire the new villas, tour the blossoming apple orchards and lush vineyard, and cool off or fish in the flowing river and lakes. We invite you to join us for any or all of our upcoming art, music, history and dining events. There’s no place on earth as beautiful as the Ranch in the summer.

News from the Ranch

Construction on The Old Winery Clubhouse is now almost complete and offers a glimpse of this gorgeous Tuscan/Napa style gathering spot. It was just featured in the Bulletin, the area’s main newspaper. We will soon release a DVD to show a virtual “fly through” of the 9,000- square-foot Clubhouse that shows the beauty of the soon-to-be dining room, wine tasting room,Tuscan kitchen, reception room and atrium courtyard. Soon landholders will host friends and family here to sip wine, relax and create lifelong memories.

We have many interesting and unique events coming up at the Ranch.These include a plein air art production, a performance of the Emmy-award-winning Latin Jazz group Sancho Panchez in beautiful Red Rock Canyon, a program about local Native American culture and our annual “Good Neighbor” barbeque and picnic. Event details are included below.

At our June Discovery Series, Devin Best from the Crooked River Watershed Council discussed Council and Ranch cooperation in enhancing the 2.6 miles of river running through the Ranch, as well as stream enhancement and the reintroduction of salmon and steelhead.At our July event,we held our first barrel tasting of Syrah and Viognier wine bottled under our Monkeyface label.Two Discovery Series events remain:
    Sept. 13: Bottling Our Barrel. Join us for a working event to taste, fill, cork and label our wine.
    Oct. 4: Exploring Ornithology. See and learn about the raptors,waterfowl and wild birds that call the Ranch home.

Home on the Ranch

Landholders will soon move into three lovely new villas on Landholdings 8, 15 and 17. September 14: THE NORTHERN PAIUTE INDIANS OF CENTRAL OREGON. Learn about Tribal history while enjoying drumming and dance. Sponsored in part by the High Desert Museum.

September 21-25: ART AT THE CANYONS. This plein air art production and show will feature local and regional artists. Sponsored in part by the Mockingbird Gallery.

September 26: PLEIN AIR ART, PANEL DISCUSSION, SHOW AND SALE. Artists and art lovers will gather at the Tuscan Stables to view beautiful works of art from – and of – the Ranch.

September 27: MUSIC IN THE CANYONS. Wonderful music and ambience combine at this live performance in Red Rock Canyon. Sponsored in part by the Tower Theatre.

October 3: ART AT THE CANYONS. A second plein air art show and sale will feature local and regional artists at Mockingbird Gallery in Bend.

October 11: GOOD NEIGHBOR BARBEQUE. Join us for our seventh-annual hospitality pig roast and picnic for owners, guests, staff and neighbors.

November 14: ART AT THE CANYONS. Studio art show and sale, at Mockingbird Gallery in Bend.
